Going back to Pictured Rocks, Seabase, Wyoming Snowy Range and Philmont are all possibilities, as well Northern Tier and the Summit Bechtel Reserve in the future. We have talked about the Chisholm Trail Adventure in north Texas as well.
Order of the Arrow: Always participate in annual OA elections, call-outs and ordeals. Two current members are Vigil members. Five scouts and scoutmaster attended the 100 Anniversary of National Order of the Arrow Conference (NOAC) at Michigan State University August 2015.
Tribe of Nani-Ba-Zu: Always have new members and advancement in the tribe. One member on Tribal Council. Try to attend regalia building event in March and NBZ Festival in August. We support work days to prepare tribal grounds and summer camp. Some participation in ceremonies at camp outside the week at camp.
Patrol Method:
Troop 305 operates with three or four scout patrols that are balanced with all ages and levels of experience. New scouts who bridge or join during February-March timeframe function together while focusing on advancement to Scout and Tenderfoot ranks until June 1 when they are placed into one of our patrols. Ideally the scouts will stay in this patrol for their entire scout experience at Troop 305. This facilitates the bonding of patrols members to become a well functioning and healthy patrol.
We try very hard to follow the official BSA Aims and Methods of Scouting.
Troop Meetings and Campouts:
Regular weekly troop meeting run from 7:00 to 8:30 pm on Thursday year round. The second Thursday of the month the Patrol Leaders Council (PLC) meets at the same time. Most meeting are held in the St. Mary's Church Bellevue Parish Center (church basement) at 2302 Crawford St in Old Town Bellevue. Occasionally we may get bumped due to a funeral or another event that requires the use of the Parish Center so it's always a good idea to call to make sure of the meeting location. We camp every month except for the February when the scouts enjoy their annual electronics lockin.
